The restaurant ambience is really cool candle lights super nice. Hostess was very nice as well as one of the waitress but the guy bartender and waiter was rude. Food was okay and drinks were good

Good food, great menu, but noisy

My go to spot after any celtics game or concert. Full menu late night. Smoked cod fritters and bison bolognese with shaved brussels are a must for sure

This place has very tasty food in quite a variety of options (flat breads, burgers, seafood and fish), and very good service. The cocktails were delicious and strong! Small place, so it gets crowded, but worth it.

Great place to grab a nice glass of sparkling wine or a beer and a small bite, salad or full meal while reading a nice book out on the patio. Great, attentive wait staff. Definitely recommend!

A hidden gem in Brookline: The local beer selection, a solid wine-by-the-glass offering (it changes with the season), a chef behind the kitchen (the sides alone are setting the stage: shaved brussel sprouts, broccolinis with garlic and soy sauce), the candles and dim lighting, what else? The impeccable service. Can't do much more romantic for a date night, and just as easy going for a beer with friends after work. The Abbey does it all. 5-stars all year long.

Quaint little place. The bison spaghetti is a must try!

OK. Small bar /restaurant with some outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is on a slope. It is better suited for having drinks rather than food.

Had lunch. Good fish tacos and good service. There's outdoor seating.

Friendly staff and great place for late night food

Food was excellent. I had the blackened cod and my girlfriend had the swordfish. Both came presented nicely and was absolutely delicious! Our cocktails were really good too.

The ambiance is cozy and excellent, the bartenders are courteous and the drinks are great. It's good for a date or a casual happy hour or even a family night out for drinks and grub. It's just not very easy to get a table or a seat at the bar during prime time.

Amazing drinks and food!

Stopped in during a Saturday afternoon snowstorm for a break. It was very warm and comfortable. Ended up staying longer than I thought, downing two Christmas ales and a good cheeseburger with cheddar and fries. Bartender was friendly and efficient. Folks at the bar were neighborly. A nice neighborhood pub with great food.

Nice beers on tap. Great pub food. Open for brunch through dinner. Yum!

If you are in your 20's or 30's and you are a Canadian tourist, make sure to bring your passports with you if you'd like to have a drink at The Abbey. We didn't feel comfortable lugging our passports around in a big, unfamiliar, American city and because of this, we couldn't relax and order a drink at The Abbey. Any other Canadian identification will not be suffice! Sad! Other restaurants will accept your ID's without a passport.

Took my office staff of four there for afternoon dinner and drinks - no wait at 3:30pm. One of the few places open so early on weekdays. Great food and drink.

Yeah I was pretty impressed with this spot, definitely exceeded expectations actually. Solid food, with a good twist that have it some flair. I think the service really is what pushed the 5 stars, they were great from the bartender to the waitreses, very warm and hospitable. Live nearby, would definitely journey back for a few pints and some dinner.

Food was mediocre at best. Burger was over cooked. Bacon was almost raw. Sandwiches were lacking in filling. French fries are cooked in same fryer as flour items so limited with gluten free items. Strange side note, they serve salt and pepper in small bowls. Giant waste of salt and pepper AND unsanitary having to put fingers in the bowl. The food was beautifully plated and looked lovely. The service was good. The food was all show and no substance. Waste of money.

I’ve eaten here for lunch and dinner and both times was blown away by the flavor. The hot chicken sandwich was perfect! Just the right amount of heat and a hint of sweet. The home made pickles are NOT sweet which better complements the already sweet sauce. The fries were crispy and everything was piping hot. The arugula salad was tasty and fresh. I’ve also had the lamb lollipops and those were amazing too!

Delicious appetizers and entres! Their cheese burger spring rolls are a must try! Very cozy place and nice staff too :)

The Abbey is always a regular for me. Good drinks good food good people. Definitely come here.

Solid Drinks and atmosphere for a date

Decent beer selection but not as expansive as I hoped it would be. All the beer is pricey. The food was good but for the price I could have gotten a much better meal elsewhere. For some reason it was hot as hell inside but no one seemed to do anything once we asked about it.

Didn't drink but it look like they have a tons of selection of qine, cocktail, & beer. The food was yummy. I ordered salmon which waa delicious good portion to fill my hunger.

Love it!!! Excellent food great atmosphere and the best part it's only around 400 m from my house.I think you can't go wrong with the menu , I've tried many dishes over there and everything was excellent.I just hope my review won't over fill this place 😆😆😆

Order the lamb burger when it’s on special...you won’t regret it

It’s been a while since I went here. I went back in like March or so... I don’t remember much about the service or food, so it was obviously good. But I DO remember the cheeseburger egg rolls! OMG. I was so upset that I had to share these with my boyfriend. They were so good. And they came out piping hot! 🤤

Great bistro vibe. Good good food and service. Excellent draft beer selection. Don't miss the mussels. Good place for lunch.

Food, service, drink selection, all top notch!

The quintessential neighborhood bar. Great drinks and tasty food. There are a lot of bars/restaurants in Washington Square, but every time I want to venture in this area, I wind up in The Abbey. The place gets pretty packed quickly, so you may have to plan accordingly.Food is comforting, good amount of choices on the menu and the drinks are great. The portions are on the smaller side, which I like - you can order and try different dishes.It's a cool little bar - check it out.

Nice local spot with great affordable food and an awesome drink selection. A wonderful spot to grab a drink and a bite to eat before the night gets wild or just to finish off the evening in a calm environment. It's a little tight though so try to make a reservation if you have a larger (5+) group.

Barmaid was very rude and delivered the worst customer service I have ever experienced in a restaurant. Do NOT go here. Also people I know have gotten food poisoning from this place.

Good Food and Drink no complaints there. Inside dining was a bit too dark of lighting for my liking. It was a bit pricey but not too bad. Overall was good.

Get the deviled eggs...two orders per person! They have spice flavor but don’t abuse the sriracha and the crispy bacon topping is a great compliment! Bartender Ron is friendly and responsive! French Dip is awesome but if you are looking for the horseradish flavor within the horseradish aioli, ask for a little extra or some straight horseradish to compliment. Not a critique because you taste it on the back end, I just like my horseradish a little more forward. Only in town for a couple days and I’m glad that I came here!!
